I have disabled the public sign up option as everyone.net helpdesk advised me that such publicly created accounts are closely scrutinized, and any semblance of spam, or sending email with attachments that include macros, are automatically suspended. As that has happened recently to a number of us, they suggested that I as owner, "vet" new accounts, and then set them up which will give them greater confidence and allows them to be less closely filfered - or so I understand!
